Špilberk Castle
Špilberk Castle, founded in the 13th century by the Czech King Přemysl Otakar II, is one of the most important historical landmarks in Brno. Over the centuries, it has undergone various transformations—from a royal castle to a military fortress and even a prison, where notable prisoners such as Italian Carbonari were held. Today, the castle is the seat of the Brno City Museum and offers both permanent and temporary exhibitions. From the castle hill, visitors are treated to a stunning panoramic view of the entire city.
